01

Starting from zero

Wristcheck sold pre-owned luxury watches on a platform built by a vendor, with Strapi handling both content and commerce. As the first engineer, I led the frontend migration to a headless in-house stack: a Next.js storefront, Medusa for commerce and Strapi for content, decoupled to improve performance and flexibility. I helped plan and test the migration on the website, coordinated QA and support post release improvements.

02

Buying a watch, properly

High-converting checkout flows and SEO grew online revenue to 20% of total GMV. I replaced legacy SQL search with Algolia faceted search, added dynamic product schema that boosted organic search traffic, and implemented the frontend for a multi-provider payment strategy (Airwallex, Apple Pay, Affirm buy-now-pay-later and crypto) that reduced transaction fees. The Airwallex integration meant working from documentation, talking directly with the provider and retesting with product, QA and design before release. The platform also covered offers and bidding, seller consignments, admin tooling and notifications.

03

Shipping without queues

I built dynamic release environments with GitHub Actions, Docker and AWS ECR/ECS, each on its own subdomain, so developers, QA and product could test separate releases without blocking each other. On the growth side, I implemented technical SEO from an agency audit, including sitemaps, structured data and content fixes, and helped build CMS and iternal tools that benefited from AI product description, listing and educational pages.

04

Growing the team

The technology team grew to around ten people. I directly managed two to three of them across frontend, backend and mobile roles, mentored three engineers, set code review standards and oversaw the first build of the mobile app.
