01

Structure first

I was brought in after a year of organisational struggles. I introduced structure and sprint priorities, rebuilt stakeholder trust, improved cross-team communication and surfaced the technical debt causing delays. I stayed hands-on too: upgrading the core marketing infrastructure, including the blog, campaign landing pages and notifications, improved SEO, UX and user conversion.

02

Search, for people and machines

I added dynamic structured-data schemas to all landing pages and blog posts, generated from each page’s content. This helped search engines understand the content and supported SEO across the marketing site.

03

AI in the everyday

I used AI to take friction out of management: Gemini to capture meetings, Claude to summarise stakeholder discussions and draft or review requirements, and a custom workflow to turn them into contextualised engineering tasks. I drove team-level adoption of Claude-powered feature implementation, code review and bug investigation. Using an existing OpenViking context database to navigate a ten-year-old legacy architecture, I fully onboarded in three weeks instead of two-plus months, and wrote new guidelines for future joiners.

04

Through to the end

As BitMEX wound down in 2026, I stayed on as the last engineer on the marketing engineering team to help see it through.
